But yes, animal porn does indeed exist. No doubt about it.

I wonder how they'd respond to numerous complaints about his screwed up site.
 
This is somewhat disturbing....

If they've blocked access to this site, what other sites have the blocked access to because of random complaints from people who aren't able to manage themselves or their kids...
 
Exactly - where's the due process in all of this? We have a legal system to deal with issues like this .. can't have service providers block sites just because some old tannies complain about them. Vodacom is seriously out of line here..

I for one don't welcome our new independently-censoring overlords.
 
VC has no right to do this. Proudly ripping SA customers off for years and now also playing censor.
 
Hmmmmm.... There are two sides of the coin here IMHO. I am not a parent (except for my Scottish Terrier), but I would imagine that as a parent I would prefer that my kids can not stumble onto websites that are a known playground for pedophiles.

That being said I would suggest that Vodacom rather start selling a VAS that makes browsing safe/safer for kids (I thought they have one :confused:). That being said, remember rule 34... edit: and rule 36 for that matter

Saying that parents should be able to control their kids is kinda naive IMHO, kids are kids and kids will be curious, and they will be even more curious if you block something...

Your child could stumble into a paedophile at school, at church, in the supermarket, etc, etc.

What about Mxit? Any chat chat program or social networking type site, for that matter?

It's a parents job to make sure their kids are safe, definitely not the job of internet service providers, especially if they choose to censor things they have no place censoring.
