Fraud control at Standard Bank raises concerns

i wouldn't touch standard bank with a very long stick.

they buggered up my fica multiple times and my wife's card was cloned and they stole money (which she did get back). we went to close her account and they said her money is unavailable. took a few days for them to figure that out. also, her replacement card after being cloned was another magstrip card and not one with a chip (after the lady told her that the chip ones are more secure.

i feel keeping my money at standard bank is kind of like hiding money under a rock in town.

does look like fraud control to me... just a quick squizz at the code tells me that every 1 second it's checking the forms on the page to see if the form targets or page referrers are one of

Makes it difficult for IT admin who control allowed sites. SB should have made it part of their domain address not external.

looks like on form submission it checks the form elements are not type "string", "hidden" or instances of an array/object and that the length is not 0

I would concur with Standard that this is certainly nothing to worry about - not sure why its coming from a different domain though.
 
Could the spokesperson be named in the article? Does not exactly inspire confidence that it has been omitted.
 
I would not trust Standard bank with a sent of my money. I know of 4 different people that had money disappear out of their Standardbank accounts in just the last 3 weeks. I think they have some serious security issues over there...

Yeah, same here, every time I get paid, it magically dissapears over the next 3-4 weeks before it's refilled!
 
With them for eon's already and I had NO problems over the years apart from a cloned card a while ago. Got all my money back so no major pain. But thanks for being on the lookout, I just wonder what the real reason for questioning the code was in the first place?

Because it looks exactly like malware. Wrong domain, GoDaddy Domain by Proxy, js reading the login form = alarm bells, especially if you've been in the biz for a while.

My STD Bank ATM card was cloned and funds withdrawn too. Luckily I have SMS alerts. Stopped the card immediately. Was refunded though. Could be an inside job!
