Fraudulent Debit Order

I got this on standard bank too, Normally it’s R99, but since it’s Christmas they decided to go for R129.
I get about 2 of these fraudulent debit orders a month.
So after calling standard bank and having it reversed as per usual, they tell me they plan on implementing a system whereby you have to authorize any debit order (By sms I assume).
They are currently flooded with these debit order reversals.

Has anyone laid charges over these debit orders? Preferably in the commercial crimes courts as regular police will probably do fekall

My R129 went off yesterday morning, the reporting sms neatly disguised between all my other notifications for valid debit orders, I could have easily missed if did not have to reverse one of thise every month.

Wow. Every month? That's pretty intense.

I personally have never gotten a debit order that I didn't ask for. Don't they need ID number and address / telephone number in order to add a debit order to your account? Otherwise every Tom, Dick and Harry who I'd given my account number to in order to do EFTs should be able to debit me as well.

No they dont need that info.

Thats usually just the authorization for the debit order in case you dispute the transaction, they have proof you authorized it in exchange for some service. These rogue operators hope that the debit order goes unnoticed.
