Hi Guys,

Not sure if I have put this in the correct place, please move if incorrect!

Ok, so just a bit of background we are a registered online retailer and we trade with all our suppliers under a holding company name.

Some bright spark has registered the identical domain with a .org extension and is trying to place orders with our respective suppliers on our behalf.

I have checked the whois and it's all bogus how do I find out who to call to have this domain shutdown?

The domain this clown has registered is www.southafricaonline.org

Any ideas on how to catch this guy would be even more appreciated!

Drew, first and foremost, it would be prudent to contact all your clients (if possible) and advise them of the details of the person/people who are trying to order product in your business name.

Trying to find the culprit is going to be difficult though, as to register a domain with fraudulent details is far too easy as there are no mechanisms to ensure that the details registered are factual and existent.

Also, give parallels a call.. they seem to be hosting his domain...

http://www.parallels.com/contact/

I don't think Parrellels is hosting that domain, Parallels is related to Plesk a windows control panel.

However if you do a whois you get the following:
Admin Email: [email protected]
and digitalwharehouse.co.za has a SA domain holding page. So you would be better giving SA Domain a call, they might be able to suspend the account if you can provide proof of the fraudulent activities. (Just go to http://digitalwharehouse.co.za/ to see)

If SA Domain cannot help you (Which I doubt they will because it could just be that the fraudster used a fake/hacked email), you can get hold of their host.

According to the WHOIS the domain points to these servers:
Name Server:WIN25.B4UINDIA.COM
Name Server:WIN26.B4UINDIA.COM

So, contact B4UINDIA.COM as they seem to be hosting this domain and provide proof of the problems and maybe they will suspend the account. In the mean time lodge a complaint with ICANN, this may take a while, but "its the right thing to do" :p.

I know SA Domain, they're based in Cape Town

BTW - the domain looks down?
