Free 1GB data on Prepaid

So my dad is on vodacom prepaid for years.... I mean like years his simcard is so old I think its a 16k sim still.

Anyways he asked me what does the sms he got mean... The sms said use your Free 1GB internet bundle on the internet by downloading apps ect ect....

When I checked he got 1GB free data that is expiring on the end of January 2014..... How can I get this data reward? :D As you can see my dad bearly even recharge or anything. He just receives calls on it mostly...

Think you must buy a crap lot of airtime and they reward you? Some scam point system.
 
You guys are lucky. I've been on Vodacom prepaid for 17 years and I did not get a single MB of data free. A month or 2 ago they offered me a Topup contract that would have cost me more per minute than I'm currently paying.
 
I got 500 mb data to use and I only use my phone for receiving calls and don't even remember the last time I recharged so enjoying browsing wherever I am on my tablet using my s4 as a hotspot :D.
 
Maybe they give it to people who don't usually use data on their line, to get them hooked and eventually buying their own

Must be cause my dad's phone doesn't even have a internet option.... He never even used internet. So must be hey.
