Free Antivirus

Glad I read this thread.

My 10 year old PC has been running for a month or so without protection, tired of Kaspersky running in the background slowiiing my PC down so uninstalled it.

Gave MSE a try right now, it found no malicious software.

Lol also have an old PC running without any AV or IS etc. Been running fine for over a year ..

Unless you are browsing really dodgy sites and being very careless, any antivirus software (with the exception of McAfee which is just terrible) will work. Just pick one. MSE for me is quiet and out of the way. McAfee is in your face and stops viruses by bringing your whole machine to a halt. It's preference.

McAfee is awful worst AV if you car about actually being able to use you're PC...

im on Bitdefender for 2 days now and my system is slow like hell also its still doing its first update..so far im pretty disappointed with it, AVG Internet security 2015 works way better in my view.

Bitdefender, whether it be the free or paid internet security version, has never slowed down my system before. Check task manager to see RAM or CPU usage.
