Free Antivirus

I'm keen to find out what you guys are using and what free antivirus is working the best for you.

I've searched the web but review sites are likely paid off to list a certain program as the best so various sites list all kinds of free antivirus programs as the best.

I'm currently using Panda Free. I changed from Avast free after my pc still got infected with adware.

I remember the old days where spybot S&D was the best now it changed to be just like the others. Non stop banners asking you to pay.

Got Norton with my LG DvD writer.

Norton is Epic

Just go to sharewareonsale.com and grab a year of AVG Internet Security for free.

Or just pay for your stuff. ESET Smart Security, Malwarebytes Premium and TuneUp Utilities are super cheap on G2A. Malwarebytes Premium is less than a dollar. Those three programs should be on every PC.

Oh Wow, look at those prices. Is this site legit though ?

Yeah, G2A is legit. Just make sure you have G2A Shield enabled. Usually you get a free month of it with your first purchase. G2A is a marketplace, so most of the time you're not buying directly from G2A. If you have G2A Shield you're covered against a non-working key.

I've bought loads of stuff from G2A and have only once had to request a refund for an invalid key. Most people have never had an issue.

Don't forget to also buy Malwarebytes Premium. G2A had a year for less than a dollar not long ago. Should still be around.
That's like really really old.

We are on version 8 now
It's just an outdated image. I bought that exact product and it's for the latest version.

Bitdefender + Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Avast is good as well. You can run Eset's online scanner once in a while to pick up anything that was missed.

Got Mcafee free 6 month license plus Malwarebytes.. will switch to next free package when Mcafee expires

At home Avira Free and common sense.. i have never had a virus and never had spyware, malware or anything.. at work we went with eset.. its very good, we run it with the RSAT server which is amazing.. but i still stuck to MSE and have only ever had malware once, which was sorted out by the trial version of malwarebytes..

http://bfy.tw/LMu take your pick...

Use Malwarebytes with the free Anti-virus software. The free solutions are not going to catch everything. Otherwise pay up and get Eset or Kaspersky.

Neither do the paid versions. Just removed 100 dodgy things with malware bytes that infected a computer with eset internet security.

MSE detection rate is terrible. If you have to use free, I would rather go Avast or Avira.

I've been using Avast for a few months now - haven't had any troubles.

While we're on the topic, has anyone used Sunbelt Vipre before? A colleague of mine uses it on her personal laptop, and she claims that it's very light on resources, very snappy, and quite good overall. Thoughts?
