Brace yourselves, the price wars are coming!

Vultr has just launched a $2.5 instance.

1 vCPU
20GB SSD Disk
512MB Memory
500GB Bandwidth
Virtualization Type: KVM

Linode and DO still to respond...

If anyone wants to try Vultr you can use my affiliate link to sign up (or not, totally your choice):

http://www.vultr.com/?ref=7121042-3B

You get $20 in credit by doing so and I only get anything if you actually decide to fund your account.

Additionally they've got a price match promo going and will match your initial deposit (up to $100) (note the $20 credit won't stack with this option, so its one or the other):

Pay $25 and got $25, although the stacked credit only lasts a year)

The Japan instance is pretty good, singapore is terrible....the US instances are blazing fast and I havent tried the EU instances yet

Possibly too late? I posted 20 days ago, so you may have missed the boat.

I did :(

But the awesome support manager hooked me up with a 1:1 match, so I'm happy.

Comparing the $2.5 box to Scaleway's C2. Seems solid aside from the bandwidth limit.

I see Aruba has changed their pricing on 1Euro servers to 4.99Euro on DE, FR and UK centres.

The price of 1€ per month is only valid for activations made for data center DC1, DC2 or DC3. New activations made for data center DC4, DC5 or DC6 will be priced at €4,99/month.

$2.5 is "temporarily sold out".

Sucks, but:

* IF you have old instances running they'll keep the old pricing.
* They still have 1EU offerings in their other DC's.

Sucks, hopefully restocked soon.
Hopefully its not a cheap marketing ploy.

Ask their support when they expect a restock... I guess a lot of their $5 customers downgraded and they lost a lot of revenue.

Yeah, and their IT2 DC is pretty good, CZ is trash but for the money the location could be useful. Still love my DE and UK instances though, insane value.

Why do you say the CZ DC is trash? Infrastructure?

Was looking into getting a few of these, and thought about mixing the IT and CZ DC's.

Seems like good value.
