FNB offers customers free online security software to protect against email scams and malware.

Who is Prevx, how long have they been in business, who has tested their software and please explain how installing an automatic self updating piece of software will protect me from a keylogger.

It didn't necessary do that for me but deemed a bit pointless because I know how to prevent most online attacks. So as it got installed, an hour later it was uninstalled.

Technology is not always the answer. A bit of user awareness may go a long way to avoid being scammed. Just a thought...

I just hope FNB is not going to prejudice victims of internet banking fraud and deny any claims because they don't have Prevx installed.

Instead of giving away the "free software" FNB should rather have concentrated on its main business, banking. Maybe then the smaller towns in the country would not have lost their only source of banking, ie. an FNB branch. In any case, Nedbank have been offering Rapport which is unobtrusive and works well with any site you ask it to (subject to a 20 site limit I think). Read FNB's small print, their software will collect data about the sites you visit, nice...:twisted:
