Free Showmax and Vodacom data - Zero Bucks Given

Showmax and Vodacom have launched a deal with free access to Showmax for three months - along with free streaming data.

The promotion is on offer to Vodacom customers, who can add Showmax to their bill between 1 November 2018 and 31 January 2019 to receive 15GB of free Showmax data - 5GB per month for three months.

I read 'Zero F**cks Given'

5GB per month will go a long way.

Exactly, I sometimes wonder what the "smart" people at these telecom companies think, someone in a meeting comes up with this k@k idea and management is like "what a awesome idea, lets implement it", meanwhile probably having fockall idea how much data streaming services consumes.

If it was 50GB p/m then it would have been somewhat acceptable.

Free is free...

When that 5 gigs is used, does it then switch over to OOB without letting you know? Also I'm already getting it for free from DSTV, though I'd like the 5 gigs for free.

Lol

No thank you. Downloading brand new series over http 10 minutes after they aired in the US is much faster, easier and convenient for me.

Downloading stuff? Is this 2007 or what? Streaming is much more convenient...

If we had better infrastructure, better internet speeds, more competitive data prices, then maybe yes. I am happy with 37TB of only series, which I can access at any time, watch at any time.... no worries about high data prices, unreliable LTE speeds and subscription fees.

Lol yes rather plonk it into buying more hard drives and electricity etc.

I'm quite happy with my 100meg connection that doesn't go down, and gives me near as damnit 100meg all the time and is uncapped.... I can stream what I want, when I want....

Yeah. I have 100mb fibre at home too, and it's amazing. We have come a long way in terms of broadband in SA. I remember when it took an entire weekend to download a Half Life 2 update and at an extreme cost. Wireless data, streaming and downloads do not go hand in hard. Use the right product for your needs.

Christ, first the moaning then the fibre virtue signalling.
We get it, you have amazing fibre and uncapped data...

As for the rest of SA, I'm sure the security guy in our complex for instance will be thrilled at this deal.
Well done Showmax & Vodacom.
