Yeah. I have 100mb fibre at home too, and it's amazing. We have come a long way in terms of broadband in SA. I remember when it took an entire weekend to download a Half Life 2 update and at an extreme cost. Wireless data, streaming and downloads do not go hand in hard. Use the right product for your needs.

I'm quite happy with my 100meg connection that doesn't go down, and gives me near as damnit 100meg all the time and is uncapped.... I can stream what I want, when I want....

I have LTE and on certain hours at the best of days I only manage to get around 1-2Mbps. As for the most of times, each day, I am lucky if Telkom LTE gives me 400Kbps. So, streaming is not for everyone.

And, yes, I complained before. A couple of times. If you are lucky, in about 2 months after the complaint a Telkom technician will eventually come out and do some tests, only to blame weather and network congestion on the slow speeds and then leave.

So, since downloading and possession is not a crime, I have filled 3 10TB hard drives with series only, now busy with my 4th 10TB HDD and keep doing so. I can watch them, without issues any time I wish. Unfortunately, for me, the downloading do take most of the day, but I do not mind to wait.

We managed to get fibre into our homes by getting all the neighbors interested, and then approaching our ISP together. Sadly, this is not possible everywhere, as fibre is highly dependent on high population densities. This is where ICASA's glaring failures come into play. It would be simple to release spectrum with provisos to roll out some sort of WiFi to under serviced areas, and ensure that it is monitored. I suggest you write to ICASA to make sure you are heard.

Was wondering the specifics of that myself.... everyone has their own theories.
