FREE Sims 2 Ultimate Collection on Origin

Hi all,

I see this on other forums so I'm sharing here so you guys don't get neglected.
I'm not a person to jump around on forums... I prefer MyBB, not MyGaming or whatever.

If you use ORIGIN
Login to your ORIGIN application
Goto "Origin" and click on "Redeem product code" and type in "I-LOVE-THE-SIMS" and bam... access to The Sims 2: The Ultimate Collection.

Get it while it's HOT!

It's a 13GB download BTW.

A decade after its release, Electronic Arts is giving away The Sims 2 for free through Origin--along with every single expansion and stuff pack ever released.

EA recently announced it would end support for The Sims 2, meaning it will no longer release content or technical fixes for the game. It will continue to offer for support to those who contact the company for help, but the game as it exists today will remain unchanged going forward (barring any efforts made by the modding community). EA contacted Sims 2 owners recently, informing them of the news and offering a free upgrade to the newly created The Sims 2: Ultimate Collection.

That same collection is now being offered to all Origin users for free for a limited time. To get it, simply open Origin, select the "Redeem Product Code" option from the menu, and enter the code I-LOVE-THE-SIMS. You have until July 31 at 10AM Pacific to redeem the code to your Origin account. If you don't already have one, you can sign up for free.

Ultimate Collection includes the base Sims 2 game along with "every single The Sims 2 expansion pack and stuff pack." The list of content that entails, as a result, is comically long: There have been eight expansion packs (which add new functionality and major features) and ten stuff packs (which, as you might guess, contain various stuff--primarily clothing and furniture) released since The Sims 2's launch in 2004.

Dude, I have over 70 games on Steam all needing to be played.

I'm the same, I buy them when they are on special (like really cheap) and then never play them - same happens on Origin or Steam - get em while they cheap and never play them.
I got this special for my girlfriend who has Sims 3 but Sims 2 Ultimate should come with all expansions (I think!??)

It's hardly hoarding when it's all hosted on steam and not on my system.

By definition......

Hoarding is a general term for a behavior that leads people or animals to accumulate food or other items during periods of scarcity.

There is no scarcity here.
I collect the games because I can, nothing physical to hoard.
By rights you're saying that having an e-mail account is also a form of hoarding?

My wife loves the sims but she already has Sims 3 and just got done getting rid of all her Sims 2 stuff.

This is one of the few game series I really enjoy from EA.

People accused of hoarding usually gives long tedious explanations of why it is not hoarding.

Accepting the first definition of from google could also lead to disaster. I found some too.

Hoarding disorder is a persistent difficulty discarding or parting with possessions because of a perceived need to save them. A person with hoarding disorder experiences distress at the thought of getting rid of the items. Excessive accumulation of items, regardless of actual value, occurs.

That is just my opinion.

Also, most definitions you find are old. Before steam was created. Before we were able to receive software without getting a physical disc that you can hold.

So yes. Buying a ton of games on steam without ever playing them (as you have admitted) can be seen as hoarding.
