Has anyone used this free, amazingly useful software?

My first attempt at doing a panoramic shot, made up of 6 separate photos, is here.

Not bad at all - and the price is also good! :)

Too bad it's windows only though so I guess I'll have to stick with PS3 for now.

I love doing panoramas - this one was 15 images and I'm surprised there wasnt any smoke coming out of my laptop by the end. :D

Whoohoo, I went all cross-eyed!
Think I'll go try a 36-shot monster from the top of Table mountain, then go make my pc smoke too.

Hmmm... how about a 36-shot panorama, all shot in triplicate, and then converted to HDR?
:D

This looks good, am going to give it a try.

It is good, you just dump the files and leave it be for a minute to do its magic. Do not know how this compares to MICE, but what I like about Hugin is that it is more than just a plain panorama creator - it hides quite an assortment of features under its hood.

Multi row looks interesting.

I like your table mountain shot. If you'll allow me one tiny bit of criticism: there's something odd - there are two distinct blues in the sky.

I use PS3 for now too, but only because I haven't taken the time to get to know PTGui Pro (which I've purchased) yet. One of my favourite ones so far is this one:

There's a link to a larger one on the flickr page.

V. nice - but what happened to the blues towards the right side?

PTGui sounds nice but I'm going to give Hugin a try before spending the money - got to save up for my PS4 upgrade after all. :)

What's wrong with them?

I had the camera set to M from a previous shot and didn't bother to look at the light meter, so all the pictures that this pano is made of, were overexposed. Which is why I'm always going on about getting it right in the camera. RAW can fix the level of light, but it cannot fix incorrect colour rendering resulting from incorrect exposure.

Are you talking about the different blues in the Table Mountain shot?
That is because of HDR glow... not related to panorama shots. :)

Yip, that's the one. Sorry, I should have said HDR - I didn't assume it's a pano too :)

I'm not sure if you're poking fun at me or if you are being serious.
I'm not trying to be funny - it's a fantastic panorama - but the blue looks a bit hectic on my end

// Although its out of everyones price range CS4 - is the ****

I went to the demo launch day and CS4 PS has content aware scaling +100
3d rotation to correct perspective for panoramas +200

Looks to be awesome if you have unlimited budget

OMW!

Is anyone else seeing what bwana sees?

I'm abroad and only have my uncalibrated MacBook with me, but I did that on a calibrated monitor and it looked just fine. I'll check it again when I'm home.

If it helps you it looks ok in FF with the ICC bit flipped off.

I might be able to stretch my budget for the $199 upgrade. :)
