Hi,

I would like to know what are the free to air channels, what do I need to use them.

Also, is there a way of getting any channels from israel in south africa?

Thanks.

Yes, probably (I do have a Wii)

why?
:-)

though so, we used to chat when i still owned a wii :)

i've sent you a pm

The best option used to be Telstar 12 with a FTA receiver that had patches to decrypt the Nagravision encryption. You could get a few channels like that.

They have now changed the encryption and there is no new patches available yet. I don't thing FTA is worth the time, money and effort... unless you are Russian, Chinese, Arabic or a very religious Christian.

LOL! So true!:D

I installed FTA here in Pretoria, and basicly all watchable channels I get is:
[On IntelSat 7/10]
-SABC 1 & 2 & 3
-France24
-Skynews
-ASTV

The Israeli Network is free on Sirius4, 4.8East.

You'll need vlc to decode the mpeg4 stream.

Yes, that is correct. The FTA Receiver detects the Skynews on the DStv bouquet, but it uses another one, called ISZone. That is the FTA channel. May be a fault on the satellite encryption, but I am able to view it:D

What type of FTA receiver do you use and where did you buy it from? Can someone buy it locally?
