Hey Friends,

It is with GREAT pleasure that I announce the return of our FREE Unshaped Socks Proxy, the very product that made OpenWeb what it is today!

FAQ:

1. What is the Free Socks Unshaping Proxy?

Basically, it is a Socks proxy located in the USA, on a 1Gbit connection, running on a port that is not shaped by your internet provider eg. Port 20. Because you will be tunnelling your applications such as Limewire, Bittorrent, WoW, CSS etc through this proxy, all the traffic will become unshaped, as it is travelling over an unshaped port.

2. Does it work with Games?

It most certainly does. All you do is simply route your gaming software to the Socks proxy by using a program such as SocksCap. (DO a search in google: SocksCap).

It will stabalise your latency, and make gameplay on international servers possible!

3. What kind of speeds can I expect with Software such as LimeWire?

Personally, I get about 112kb/s on LimeWire. Torrents run a little lower at an average of about 70kb/s, due to the nature of the technology.

4. You say it's FREE, what is the catch??

There is no catch. OpenWeb started off as being a FREE socks proxy service, and we will never forget our roots. This is just to say thank you to all those for helping us grow into the adult we are now.

5. How do I register?

Why would I need a VANS license wallace?

Eg. You need one to resell Saix ADSL.

Do you have one?

So will this make my skype calls clearer? Like unshaped?

BUT he's not reselling, he giving it away for free...Anyway, it shouldnt matter about a VANS license since its not SAIX ADSL....

As an indirect SAIX reseller, I do not need a VANS license.

Thus, I do not have one, and don't intend on getting one, because as far as i'm concerned, it's another one of governments money making schemes.

He does sell saix adsl (see http://www.openweb.co.za/newsite/)and I just want to know if he has a vans licence before I sign up.

Are there still free unshaped proxy accounts available?

I've had no reply to my request a few days ago. Just wondering how it works.

Make sure whenever you sign up with any company for any service to first read all their legal stuff, if they are registered, their year end results, reports from their accountants, etc. Then by 2015 when you're done with it - sign up and enjoy their service.

Did you post on the openweb forum? There's a thread there regarding registering.
