My Winzip has expired. Where can I get a free one.

Yea winrar but damn winrar is a mission i find for zip files? why can you not use windows zip?

What version of windows you using?

Done a search for Windows zip. Found nothing. Using WinXP Prof.

WinZip 12..... I have the full version

AM not sure how much but all I know I got it for free. << Legally

You do not need another zip program as windows xp has unzip build in? Are the extensions of the files.zip? if so then i am not so lost because you get it with windows and it should not expire.

What happens if you right click a zip file can you extract it?

7zip

Supported formats:
Packing / unpacking: 7z, ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2 and TAR
Unpacking only: ARJ, CAB, CHM, CPIO, DEB, DMG, HFS, ISO, LZH, LZMA, MSI, NSIS, RAR, RPM, UDF, WIM, XAR and Z.

winzip and winar eventually come up with the obligatory popup. but i really see little problem in clicking continue. in fact let me say this is true for winrar as i now realise i haven't used winzip in years.

7Zip is the best because:
Its Free
Can Unzip almost anything
Has a really good compression
Is open-source
