ok lets say i want vista ultimate..but i want to try it with a temp key for 30 days.How would i do this.

Well, did you get an option when you installed Windows Vista to select the edition of Windows Vista you had purchased?

I do have the vista dvd,and i know i must download the small app to activate the ultimate off the original dvd.But this program requires me to use a credit card at ms

Good, but did you have the option of selecting the edition when you installed it? If you did, then you can run Windows Vista Ultimate for a while (I think 30 days) without a key.

No option when i installed except 32bit or 64 bit.
afaik,vista business does have the ultimate on it..encrypted.

Ah, just thought it would have the option as well (my Windows Vista Ultimate had a whole list of every edition...)

When i use the upgrade feature,it tells me to which i want to install..ie ultimate.
SO of i go on the net and then the program tells me to put in my dvd and then use the small app to install ultimate.Easy and painless except da credit card part

Afaik..all the ms vista dvd's has all the editions encrypted on it,Its that smaaallll app that lets you use the dvd to go up a notch,plus the app has the key in it to...
