Free VS for small teams

Microsoft today launched the Community 2013 edition of Visual Studio, which essentially replaces the very limited Visual Studio Express version the company has been offering for a few years now.

The new version is extensible

Seems like a big deal & I haven't seen a thread yet.

Visual Studio 2013 Professional goes for what? $500? Seems cheaper to download this, since it's more or less the same as Professional (except for the licensing re Enterprise dev).

Didn't even think about MS today, it is Amazon AWS re:Invent day 1 Keynote today.

Already loaded on a VM

Installed this evening to try out.
Solution with 83 projects, mix of MVC Web app, Windows service, win forms project and a bunch of libraries. Loaded and built fine. No restrictions at all.
Pretty chuffed.

This is awesome to hear. Mainly because I have BizSpark and when it ends, this would be the best alternative. Unless I am making millions then its fine to buy MSDN
