Microsoft changing Teams free plan and wiping business users' data

How does R71 per month equate to R1280 per year?

This was always to be expected and there isn't really any migration path other than an upgrade path. This business model in the services industry is as old as day, simple onboarding conversion to paid subscribers. Just like there is no such thing as LTDs, and though OT, I am happy that the whole Filmora episode happened, but that product was paid in advance unlike the Teams Free plan.

Any product which is online will turn subscription, so always prepare to start to pay. You are the product, and you need to sustain the service.

I am in the view, that once you become a paid subscriber that you should have the right to instruct the provider, and the channel, which data on you they may collect. MS is sitting in on your meetings, and so are many others.

The R1280 is the annual price for the Microsoft 365 Business Basic package which is R128 per month, so two free months.

The R71.10 is for the Teams Essentials package and is R853.20 as in paragraph 6.

Yep - I see that they have now corrected the article...

I support any change that might prompt my employer to switch back to Slack.
