Need to rip one of my DVDs but it's encrypted. Any recommendations for a free utility on 64 bit Windows 7?

AnyDVD works on 99% of DVDs have only had issues with Disney DVDs.

AnyDVD does not seem to pickup any source directory when Win7 is run in a virtual machine even though the disk is seen inside windows 7 as the D: drive...

Heard of people using DVDfab but have never tried it my self.

That does not accept the disk either.

In WinXP DVD Decrypter worked fine. Unfortunately I lost my WinXP VM 2 days ago.

Hmmm, so if AnyDVD does not work, and DVD43 does not run on 64 bit windows, then you seem to be stuck. You gotta rip it on a different computer.

Otherwise, if you just wanna watch it... use DAPlayer. That can let you watch any DVD or Blu-Ray without worrying about the encryption or region settings...

Fark! DVD Decrypter seems to work fine in Windows 7 64 bit. Don't believe everything you read on the internets, should have tried it first without wasting all this time downloading other useless crap. I feel like an egit right now.

aaaah, yes. I didn't know you had not tried that. It works just fine under 64 bit. But, even then there are a few discs that it will have a problem with. For those you need on the fly encryption.

DVDFab is very easy to use and I have never had a disk that it could not rip.... Not that I support DVD Ripping or affirmitively shopping for your copy of said DVDFab via P2P or piratebay or such ;)

Been using it on Win7 64 bit since Win 7 came out... But I don't rent DVD's any more... uncapped (wink, wink... nudge, nudge)

No worries. DVD Decrypter is working like a bomb on Win7 64 bit in a Virtual Machine ;)

All you need to do is enable 'pass thru' on the cd/dvd drive in Virtualbox settings.

Next thing to do is to get it running in WINE on linux.
