Assume you mean use text for your pockets and pads? Yeah. Been asking for that every year Dassault systems sales rep visits us.
Work around for that is to make catdrawing with the text, export as DXF and open it, copy and paste the text from DXF to your design drawing. What really pisses me off is that SolidWorks has this function and CATIA does not despite both being owned by Dassault Systems.

Constraints? like between subcomponents? that's part of assembly design toolset for V5.

I assume he means keyboard shortcuts for example setting the length of a line to constrain its distance you would press k+d on the keyboard enter the distance and press enter.

Ah I see, Keyboard short cut for the tool. Well, that's under the customization of your toolbars.
I don't care for it but its there.

pretty amazing that FreeCAD can easily convert STL to STEP when my work NX cant do it without a higher license (apparently)
 
any recommended tutorial on learning FreeCAD assemblies? :)

This is my list of hints for myself to remember each time:

1. New project
2. Import stl
3. go to part workbench
4. select body -> part -> create shape from mesh -> select sew shape -> ok
5. hide initial body
6. select body -> part -> create copy -> refine shape
7. hide previous body
8. part -> convert to solid
9. go to part design, create new body icon on toolbar
10. click basefeature
11. select the face
12. create sketch
13. then pad and extrude and sketch etc

I do recommend this below video, because it shows you it is quite different way of working with STLs vs building something from scratch.

Freecad to the rescue again where a paid corporate commercial NX package cannot help me without higher licenses!

Another software option is a Fusion 360 Hobbyist license, which is free to use but limited. The license for Fusion is also not that expensive; it's around R5500 a year.

$85 per month. That's expensive for me as a hobbyist. And I don't like that the free version is limited and doesn't allow you to sell your designs.

Shaper3d is another alternative at $25 per month.

theres small filets on it that dont show well on pic, i made one with larger filets but the step file was not slicing well. I was not in the mood to figure it out at 1am.
Also hardly anyone uses the back seat. My bro was the one that said he wanted it there.
