Hey, some of you might know, this was suppose to be my scummy website, but some formitees guided me onto the right path and I decided to try and make it into something useful.

So far I decided to make it a website ideal for those IT guys who installed a fresh windows and needs the essentials in a easy to locate place.

These programs are cherry picked tried and tested so to speak.

Of course there is other websites and programmes out there, but that's not the point, this site is purely an experiment as I was looking at selling the domain but needed to make it appealing first and in the process sort of liked the idea of the site.

What do I want from you?

Well, if you find dead links please post it in this thread or of you have suggestion etc.

What is coming?

I am working on a blog that I will add on which I will give an in depth review and installation guide for the specific software available on the website.

Current status :

Everything should work, only avast is not a link yet and the android and blog section is not active yet.

All in all hope you guys find it useful, keep in mind I am a noob and by no means a Web designer.

It would help, or be easier, if you categorize the software under Windows, Linux and OSX.

You should focus on shaming scumbug software and apps that install malware & toolbars and are sold as free apps but you then have to pay to get anything useful out of it.

Thank you for that I will brainstorm on a short of name and shame section. This would most likely end up on the blog as I want to keep the website minimalistic and to the point although this might be a good additional page to add.

I will play with some ideas.

Again thank you for the input I really appreciate the positive responses I expected much much worst.

Liked the website but the image's load slow but maybe it could be my network.

Thanks for the like I appreciate it, hope it comes in useful. The pictures are a bit too over kill at 800 x 500 pixels so I will look into resizing them to a smaller dimension.

Why is Notepad++ not first on that list?

I contemplated putting notepad++ in there, but countless online Googling let me to think having both brackets and sublime should be sufficient, however if notepad++ is that important then I will add it to the development collection no problem.

I should actually have a suggestion box thing online then people can vote.

Ah cool, never used either of those so I'll give them a try.

Have a look at pdf24 its free for commercial use, you can even add your own company branding to it!

I'll go have a look, thank you very much.

pdfSAM is another very useful tool.

Almost added it, wasn't sure if people use it, so I will add it.

Adding names to this thread is pointless, there is another tread which Gary started a long time ago to cover this subject:

http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/109842-Sites-for-Completely-Free-and-Legal-Software!

I saw that thread, but this one is specifically for freecomputersoftware.org as I'd like to offer a more personal touch in regards to the specific website.

No blue links to click on in OP or elsewhere.

The blog is up and running I used wordpress and a modified twenty fifteen theme as I wanted it to be as minimalist as possible. I imported some of my posts from another blog I ran last year and will do everything now from this one.

I am looking to add some more tutorials aiming for at least 1 a day and per request.

I will now focus on adding android, linux and OSX essential software to the website.
