Im looking for a freelance web developer to help further develop and existing web application ? Also looking for a freelance iphone application developer. Tight budget for startup web application. Reasonable rates required. Thanks all

Flash != great web developement.
Too true. I hate flash websites. Give me a nice, standards-compliant, CSS-based site any day.

EDIT: It seems that people struggle more to create a decent CSS site than they do to create a Flash one. :confused:

And this is why you work with a graphics designer who knows his ****, and not a web designer or a flash designer or a school kid who learned HTML in a day.

Then you as web developer come along and plug everything in that is required...

Anyway, still no pm from the OP and he didn't really specify which type of web dev he's looking for. So I assume the pay won't be great and the client doesn't really know what they want.

I've learned to stay away from people who don't know what they want. They're like black holes where you just keep on pushing your time and money into it hoping to get paid but never do...

Big difference between web designers and graphic designers, I reckon. (And when I say "web designers" I mean those that sit in front of Photoshop, and only Photoshop, the whole day).

Web design is about user interface (or whatever the current biz-speak for it is). I recently had to try and teach the basics of web design to two experienced graphic designers - they had no idea and produced garbage. The whole scrolling/screen resolution malarkey was incomprehensible to them.

Another +1 to absolutely everything you just mentioned there.
