Are there any sites with customer reviews of freelance web developers (not designers)?

I need a PHP/Python developer but it's risky trusting someone.

Alternatively, what is the best site to find a freelance SA-based developer on?

As far as I know there aren't any at the moment. I have considered creating one but its in the stack bellow more pressing projects at the moment.

You could try posting an advert on the classifieds here and be really careful about your screening process (as you said, trusting people is risky).

Python skills will be harder to find unfortunately but you could try posting a message on the CTPUG Google Group. Some of us non-capetonians are subscribed to it so it might be worth a try even if you are not based in Cape Town.

A bit of generic advice I'd give to anyone posting a job advert is make sure to give a salary range in the advert. And saying "marketed related salary" doesn't count. :)

I know this seems cryptic, but "running free is coming 8-)".

I hope this isn't sabotaging the thread entirely... Running free is planned to be a place to post jobs, or if you're a freelancer find work. (Any thoughts on what you would want to see there? category, kinds of reviews etc.? PM me.)
