Freelancer to look after my PHP website

PHP back end

I had a very good freelancer who rewrote the back end and maintained the website for about 18 months. Unfortunately he disappeared some time ago. I suspect that sadly he must have got caught up in some troubles in his home country.

The website works well but over time small changes and improvements need to/can be made.

So I am looking for someone to replace him. I'm also nervous about being without a programmer I can call on in an emergency happens.

The freelancer I used worked through Upwork but I would be happy to work with someone local.

Ant suggestions on how should I go about it? Anyone interested in doing the work?

I am sorted. Thanks to all who contacted and gave me solid advice.

It couldn't have turned out better. I found a competent, well organised fellow forum member. He's done about 6 hours work already.

I couldn't be happier.
