I have a FL2, very reliable and very capable off-road, 215mm clearance, which can easily be lifted by 40mm with the right tyres and possibly a few spacers, front and rear.
My engine is the very reliable 2.2l 140kw (400Nm) Peugeot SD4, and it has a Jatco 6-sp auto gearbox.
I have found it to be reliable and economical.
We get it, it was reliable for you.
Forester is a great alternative, for what it was I really enjoyed my time with a 2.5XT, but then again I wasn't paying for fuel, they're notoriously heavy on juice in turbo guise.
Question to the OP - will you only be using the vehicle for a few dirt roads on occasion? Because most of the current soft-roaders will handle that no problem.
. I've had both cars.
