As the thread title says, I'm looking for a FREEWARE backup solution.

I have a company that is wanting to backup software but they can't afford to spend money (we are in a recession) and I'm sure there is something, hell, If I Google, I find lots of programs but those of you who know, what do you guys recommend, something that works very well.

What platform?

If they just want to backup certain folders, write a batch script - or use Windows Backup?

I've found Nero BackitUp which comes with most DVD writers (Nero Express) quite usefull for that situation. Does Diff etc and looks like you can schedule backups and choose directories which the builtin MS OS backup seems to omit.

Cobian Backup 9. I use it, very easy to configure and works well.

Windows

My documents
E-mail (PST) and Outlook express directories.

Thought of that, but prefer to use something else.

I am using this software. FBackup4.1 free backup software
Free Backup Software is good.

Will any of these free backup utilities backup up AD and Exchange as well? If not, Is there something that is free that can do this?

As most of you know, the clients never want to spend money on the important stuff. :D

Don't want to do a system state, as you always have a lot of problems when restoring to new hardware...

Exmerge for Exchange, system state for AD.
