Freeware GPS with voice

Right so I downloaded navfree and I selected the South African maps to download. Didn't take long to setup. As far as I know this was an offline maps navigation? Otherwise why would it do massive map downloads?

Anyway, I disabled my data and tried to search for something... No results. Turned data back on, worked perfectly.

So what is the difference between this navfree and Google maps then? Navfree just doesn't update the maps as you go (uses data) but uses data to search stuff?

Some input would be appreciated

I'm not sure what you are doing, I've just checked my Navfree, wifi off and data off and it works as it should. You aren't confusing GPS with data are you? And, the maps are definitely downloaded? SA map is 48.1MB.

More info. I first downloaded the Italy maps, which were over 600mb and then I downloaded the South African maps. I battled to get that list of all the countries again once I had the Italian maps, so perhaps I downloaded the sa ones wrong? Pretty sure I didn't though...

Weird thing is, if I turn off wifi and data and go into the app, I try search for something and no sa results return, only some Italian ones.

It's like it's ignoring the sa maps? Of using Italian as default?

You might be right, have you considered deleting the maps and then reinstalling just the maps of SA?
