Hey, so all of a sudden my PC froze. When I restarted it said 'insert boot device' as it didn't even find the SSD.
I have to turn off the power to the PC and then start up for it to recognise the SSD. Now, whenever I boot into windows within 10 seconds it completely freezes up with only the mouse pointer being able to move.

Has my ssd failed, or could it be something else?

Did you check the power connector isn't a bit loose and try connecting it to a different SATA port, and changing the cables?

I was thinking that until you said you can go into safe mode without a problem.

Did you install any programs or drivers recently?

Okay safe mode also freezes up, just takes slightly longer.
Changed SATA ports, changed power, same problem.

Haven't installed anything new recently.

I have just installed Windows on another drive... Is there a way to now check the SSD to make sure?

There are programs on the net that state they can test SSD health ect, I would just copy a few movies or something to and from the SSD, then install a game or program on it and see how it runs off the SSD.

The SSD doesn't allow you or you can't find them?

It doesn't allow me. The new Windows says you don't have permission and when I try to change the permission it won't let me do that either. I am an administrator.

At the moment with a fresh install it seems to not be freezing.

Any ideas on why it would freeze even in safe mode before? Is it possible when it gets to a certain capacity it freezes up?

Linux LiveCD will do the trick!

Did you change your SATA mode at any stage in your bios?
