Frequent disconnects/IP changes

Hi folks

Anybody else experiencing frequent disconnects/IP changes? It happens nearly every 30 mins here...Melville, JHB.

If i understand it correctly, Telkom had some issues with their ATM.
 
I frequently have to reset my router as the connection "disappears". The link is active, but no data can be transferred.

It is very strange, since I have a router connection and a PPPOE connection and the PPPOE connection stays up.

Moederloos, there are probably some errors on ur line, maybe some water or the line being earthed, ask telkom to test your line for you, they might be able to pick up some errors. and yes if your disconnected u will get a new ip upon the next reconnect..
Qwagga: ADSL does not use the ATM network..

Sorry my friend, the Telkom backbone is ATM!
 
True, but if there is a problem on the backbone, network segments might not be available including the DSL cloud.

I have had frequent disconnects since friday, techie was here yesterday and he cant figure out what is wrong...
