Fridge Defrosting Daily

Yah they're not cheap but the lack of any form of maintenance makes up for it.
We never have to defrost it, it has a super freeze function for fast freezing.
It just always works.
 
Similar issue with ours. Constantly freezing over, then leaking onto the bottom. We had to defrost it every month or so.

It is a design flaw with Defy fridges. Rather they stick to making stoves.

Our fridge thermostat gradually stopped working now too, so we mothballed it. The seals are worn and cannot be replaced <-- this will happen to all their models.

Hot water onto the hole and clear with a plastic straw.
 
Update: so I called Defy Service Centre in the Cape yesterday afternoon; they are just like 10km from me; logged a request for someone to checkout my fridge.

Got a call passed 8 this morning & two friendly gentleman arrived at my door before 10.

They had a look & all good. They explained the hole at the back that was blocked up; a straw & few secs later all good. Of course zero charge incurred as fridge is within 2 yr period.

All in all big thumbs up to Defy & their after-sales service

Lately the fridge has been defrosting itself on a daily basis; which is rather unusual; one would find about 2 cups worth of water beneath the crisper box.

The freezer component of the fridge does not have this issue.

Tried every single settings through the past few weeks to allow the fridge to stop defrosting but no luck.

Other than that no complains about the fridge.

Is your drainhole/drain pipe blocked?
Most fridges have a drain pipe bottom back of the fridge section.
This leads down to a metal container above the compressor and the compressor keeps that warm so the liquid evaporates.

If it blocks the water can not get there to evaporate.

It was blocked; all sorted now

The design is poor, so the hole blocks easily or is overwhelmed. Our Defy was never good at holding a temperature either.

It's a very small hole so that less condensation can form and less *** can get into the fridge.

Keep the fridge clean and it does not block ;)
