Fridge making a weird sound

So all of a sudden mg fridge started making this loud humming sound nonstop. I popped open the back and found the cannister looking thing to be hot and weirdly the radiator looking thing seems to be at room temperature.

Apart from that the fridge seems to be running normally.

The fridge is a LG 550L single door which is almost 11 years old.
 
Is the compressor clean and are the radiator fins clean?
If you have a compressor, then blow the radiator out and check that there is not dust build-up on the compressor (canister looking thing).

There didn't seem to be much dust on the compressor there is some dust on the radiator, I think I'll need to get some compressed air to clean it out
 
It could mean a lot of different things, it depends on the type of hum. We need a voice recording of you making the exact humming sound that it makes, for analysis.

Where would I need to upload it to?
 
But before you do that, give it a PK on both sides. In my own experience, the loud hum turns into a subservient burble and then goes away. Only upload if the hum gets louder and more urgent.

Yes, give is a little bump from a few different angles and see if the sound stop. can just be the compressor rubber mounts that is worn or turned hard.
Even if the compressor is on its way out, you should get a replacement.

Ps I have a fridge that is over 40years old, had to replace thermostat about 12 years ago at R60, that's it. Compressors tend to last. My newer fridges and freezer with the electronics is a different story, the give problems often.

Has the OP tried turning it off and on? Only half-joking...

Edit: Just FYI it's not a DIY job. Any actual repairs need to be done by a trained technician, since replacing the compressor involves evacuating and replacing the refrigerant.
 
Try to move your fridge a bit first. If that doesn't help you need to replace the compressor.
