Yeah was also quoted like 2000k for new seals on my fridge door, so I ended up selling the fridge for R1500 and buying a new double door fridge that was a demo unit for R8k. I also sold my old freezer and newer one for an additional R2500 soooo yeah. I do like having a new fridge.

Defy with push in gaskets. tecsareco quoted R800 for top and lower door gaskets from Defy (original). Seal-A-Fridge quoted R2000+ for custom made.
Well mine is a 7 year old (may be more) kelvinator. Don't think it's worth spending that much for new door seals.
Although it works fine and does the job so don't want to replace it. But the gap in the door worries me because clearly its wasting electricity

Anyone has any suggestions where I can get kelvinator door seals and a glass shelf ? I don't mind second hand

My fridge is in excellent condition. So yes it is a lot, but won't even find a second hand fridge for that price in same condition. If your fridge is still in great condition it is worth it. Second hand you will anyways need to replace seals, thermostat and who knows what else.....

So just an update on how to install the push in seals/gaskets:

I got the original seals from Defy via tecsareco. I was surprised after installing them the magnets do not reach the fridge and doesn't seal. So I just took Lady Vikings's noisy hairdryer and heated up the seals to soften them. I heated the corners more and then took the handle side of a butter knife and just ran it along the edges of the seal. It fits perfectly now.
