Frogfoot has been flapping in Cape Town from 6 am intermittently. Anyone else have sporadic outages in Cape Town on Frogfoot?

No issues here. CPT/Deep South /Mweb/Frogfoot. But since last night, I've had over 1000 unique IPs attempting to brute-force/portscan/DDoS my network, probably unrelated, but I see domains.co.za is getting hit with a DDoS.

It's crazy how normalised these outages have become. 12 hours since this started this morning. Not a word from Frogfoot or any ISP's via notices etc other than Cool Ideas taking the lead to notify their clients.

This time seriously FrogF#ck . This company will never change.

Area? Your loss sheet looks about the same as mine (Milnerton Cape Town)

For us the issues started Thursday already, but 'supposedly' limited to some outage in Gordon's Bay. Then came Friday and everything was messed up, and now it is Saturday with incidents all over the place. At this point it is still not stable, but the internet is usable, except where you require an uninterruptible connection.

I hope this is solved by Monday morning, but the padda is back to its old tricks. I do pity such events. One escalation upon another escalation.

Back up this side. I don’t know what could take a day to fix. Must have been a line card or something. I’ve seen some node rooms that look like a domestic server closets I would not be surprised if that is how Frogfoot rolls. Just glad it’s up. The only way to deal with SA providers is just to have backup internet. TIA.

:laugh: Thanks for the detail. Non-redundant aggregation / access switch with 1000 households downstream. Bitco Milnerton POP also only runs 1 switch. Margins must be really tight. 🤣🤣
