Many of the older hotspot providers use a time based billing model.. which is like the old dial up days. We use a volume based billing model.
 
@ SoftDux, I agree with wifispot.. also, the value we add is really in the billing and automation systems. The quick sign-up process for example. We take care of all the payment options, scratch cards, debit orders, credit cards. We give you nice stats, work out commission payments. We also create a network of hotspots so end users can user their account at more than just one hotspot.
 
I've had a view people ask me how this whole wifi hotspot thing works so we created an overview page to explain all the roles.

Just one question. i seriously want to use this service. Ive seen in the mall here that all the bussinesses uses 3G to check their email and get important documents of the net. they pay double. So I want to start a hot spot. Can any 1 tell me what radius from where the hot spot is located.

We usually answer: up to 200 meters.

But you can also add better antennas and use range extenders and WDS to create a "big" hotspot.

We usually find that a 50m radius is a good benchmark figure for indoor hotspots. This obviously changes depending in the construction of the building though.

We have implemented hotspots that have a number of nodes or cells and the user experiences this as one big hotspot. The don't even notice any change as they move around.

WirelessG does bandwith billing, time billing and a combination.
Also provides session based billing.

So yes, a lot of options.

They are partners with Telkom - TZone and Vodacom.
