We usually find that a 50m radius is a good benchmark figure for indoor hotspots. This obviously changes depending in the construction of the building though.We usually answer: up to 200 meters.
We have implemented hotspots that have a number of nodes or cells and the user experiences this as one big hotspot. The don't even notice any change as they move around.But you can also add better antennas and use range extenders and WDS to create a "big" hotspot.
