I was lucky. From 384 to 4MB in 2 hours after moaning at the Telkom shop about getting my initial order wrong...

I have been waiting 4-5 weeks here in George for my ADSL phone to be fully installed? I agree phoning the Toll Free number is a waste of your time.

Goto the Telkom shop, last week Telkom Outdoor division connected the line
to the outside, now just waiting for the Telkom ADSL contractor (operational out of Port Elizabeth for this area) to complete the installation inside.
(No dialtone I checked)
Before going to the Telkom shop I had no idea when the installation was due, but Connie their phoned the contractor number in PE and was given Wed or Thu tomorrow, let see if they will hold to their "Word".

kilos - im in George too man, it was quite a ride getting ADSL at my place, do you know yet if your area has a DSLAM? cos if not I'm afraid you're in for a much longer wait than you think.
