Frying Pan help

Im looking for a complete set of cast iron cookware. Any recommendations? Tired of all these new fandangled materials and going back to old school.

Considering marble now. Does it do well under high heat and sear nicely?

It sears very nicely but I avoid, like with all non stick pans, very high temperatures. It retains heat like a MOFO though.

I've only had it for about two months now so time will tell. But as far as I am aware there is a trade in thing going with these pans where you can trade your scratched one in for a refurbished one.

Yeah, guess that's the problem with new tech is you have to wait and see if it lasts or not. But if they trade in then great.

You can use it in the oven, right?

R599 at Takealot...leaning that way but am hoping someone pops up with a good review of the neoflam set as it'd be nice to replace my crummy pots as well.

I bought an awesome frying pan from Makro, stainless steel, nothing fancy, but just works.
