If you're sure it's not something to do with the configuration of your own system, report the fault to 155 and then send VD the reference number.

I had an FTP problem when I first tried Vodacom, turned out to be something with their firewalls, v3g got it sorted.

I've just tried connecting to my friends FTP.

On "internet" APN, the connection fails. And on "unrestricted" APN the connection goes through fine.

Looks like they have blocked port 21 on normal "internet" APN??? What happened?

Internet APN is still not working for FTP on port 21. VodacomData, should I log a call regarding this?

Don't forget I'm in Pretoria, you're in JHB. We go through different gateways don't we?

Hi

I know this is an old thread, but has this issue been resolved. I have the same problem with FTP using Filezilla on Port 21. So does all my clients who have Vodacom modems. It seems to work for a while and then will just stop. It is very random. Resetting the router or modem multiple times until it comes right works for a while and then it will cut off. It is not just me, I have three clients that can't FTP to my server either. They are using Vodacom modems. I am using a Vodacom Router.

I do not think it is only linked to FTP. I also have a SQL connection on port 1433. This bombs at the same time.
It seems that Vodacom has a problem routing any other traffic than http and smtp.

This is very frustrating.

Can anyone shed some light on this issue or does this just fall into the Vodacom black pit, never to mentioned again?
