Had the same idea in mind. We dug and our own in-yard trenching, laid down some 25mm LDPE pipes with a fish tape and weed eater line (if needed), and ensured there were no kinks or bends, then installed it up-to where we want the ONT to be installed. So all that is required is just to run the cable through, and connect us up.

Great, let me know how it all works out. I was thinking about 25mm conduit trenched at about 300mm(maybe overkill). I saw a vodacom installation on one of the forums and that used conduit and almost surface trenching. If anyone else has done this I will appreciate some input.

The street went quiet on Friday, the contractors have marked PKP( not sure what the acronym is ) on the netting where the underground mole impacting was complete I presume. Will see how things progress in the new week.

Too shallow. You would want to prevent any possibility of damage by any gardening activity!
And I would put old bricks on top of the pipe as a warning barrier when closing the trench.
Edit 300 mm not cm I presume?

I think I must say further that this fibrehood install is completely under the radar. There is no listing of this coverage on Vumatel or SADV websites. I wonder if that is how the FNO's operate now so as not alert the competition of potential network deployment, barring of course wayleave applications which will expose their intent.

This is exactly what we did, dug about say 400mm, covered pipe in a layer of soil, followed by some old bricks, covered up and compacted a little.
EDIT: meant mm instead of cm

300cm? as in 3m. Are you going to hire a digger loader

No the posts are all wrong. I don't know why. I tried to fix mine it should be mm.

Fixed my post on PC. The tablet just keeps on changing mm to cm.

I am currently on Telkom's Fixed LTE smart uncapped which I have been on since January 2016. The cost is R529 per month which is extremely reasonable, speeds are a decent steady 30/20 20/20. Some days I get to 70 down. My plan is to go to Cool Ideas 100/100 but that will still be double the cost of my current setup. I will still see how this transition unfolds to fibre, nothing cast in stone just yet.

Our HOA had implemented so rules and guides

The Bulleting under the street is awesome as the do not need to make cuts. I am a little worried with the amount of rocks you have there as a rock sets the bullet off

Just some ideas we implemented and also relates maybe to your Friday quite issue

1. There is no drilling/ trenching Fridays after 12:00 this is simply fir the fact if there is a utility hit it can be fixed in time and there is no issues where residents dont have water or Power
2. Drive ways that had imprints or pavement that would be difficult to replace or reinstate should also be bullted
3. All Cross road bullets must be scanned to reduce risk of service hit
4. Work after 12:00 on Fridays and Saturdays where only to reinstate
5. All Staff must have ID cards as there is an increase of risk for people pretending to install fibre and robbing home owners, this is a general problem with new builds


That is just some hints i have now but there was a lot more fine rules that also had to be followed
