Hi All,

I have recently qualified as a fibre design & Ftth specialist,i have tried to do some digging regarding ftth projects, and specifically bandwidth that is required where throughput is above 10MB, i have come across a company where throughput offered on a fibre backbone ranges anywhere from 4mb up to 1GB, however, very costly.

speeds above 10mb are not offered by the large or "known" ISP's

can anyone elaborate on the need regarding ftth & high speeds, would love to hear different opinions. :)

There is a need/demand. Costs unfortunately are far out of the reach of - well, basically - everyone. 10mbps fibre is ~R20k per month, if you can get the provider to agree to install.

With Neotel you can actually get it for under R10k (incl VAT) per month!

My office is using their 10Mbps NeoBroadBand Fibre service (1.5TB/month soft cap) and the speeds are generally very good.
