Fuel Consumption *Warning* *****ty Golf

Argh! km/L is not consumption, L/100km is :( How does one consume a kilometer?

It is a commonly used metric, a car drives 13km per litre of petrol used. Eg. 100 / L/100km = feul consumption per km

It is much more usefull to know the distance you can cover for each litre than the litres used for every 100km (seriously who the hell travels a 100km every day). That way you actually know what kind of fuel usage you'll have for a trip of X km.

Sure, but if we're talking about km/L then we're measuring efficiency, i.e. how many km can one obtain from a single litre of fuel. Semantics, I know, but still relevant.

It's the same reason we don't say that we 'spend' 0.33 days per R100, but R300 per day, because you can't spend a day.
