Hybrid and basic software gets my vote no need to change the hardware, can do it later.K03 crew checking in. My CHRA is stuffed though, so wondering if I should rebuild it, go hybrid or go K04
The latter two would need more $$$ for injectors and a fuel pump, though.

Which car? Definitely a diesel with good consumption- the speedo cluster looks like it may be off of a French marque? Can't remember if I have posted this before![]()

1.6 or 2.2? Nice ride! Definitely a big car - I see they are nearly 5m long.Big car, small fuel bill![]()

Exactly...mine is similar...onboard computers lie all the time. Only way to know really is to count the litres and the kilometers and do the maths yourself. So I did 909 km's on 70 liters, first click fill ups. Car shows 6.7l/100km but it works on to around 1 liter more, trip computer is super optimistic it seems. I would've easily pushed it to 1000 km's but the traffic was super shi t last week so that cut my range by quite a lot.

At that trip computer consumption I was supposed to do over 1 000 km, I actually wanted to work out how far out it was, and I was actively trying to use as little as possible. That consumption you're getting with that power is bloody good, BMW?Exactly...mine is similar...onboard computers lie all the time. My average for the last year is 9.3L/100km from a 3.0L 230kw twin turbo diesel and the best tank ever was downhill from Clarens to Margate with a 7.1l/100km average.
I use fuelly.com to input the litres I throw in every tank so I know exactly what the car is doing.
In theory it shows over 1000km when I fill up, it only gets just over 900 though, trip computer reading is far out.Is the 75km the range left
Its about right 70l would give you 1000km
That's very frugal. 2.2?So I did 909 km's on 70 liters, first click fill ups. Car shows 6.7l/100km but it works on to around 1 liter more, trip computer is super optimistic it seems. That's very frugal. 2.2?
A few years ago after my work Caddy was written off, I had a 2.2 Ranger as a hire bakkie, and driving back from EL to PE one afternoon, I managed to get it as low as 3.3l/100km in some spots @ 100kph. It was the barebones single cab though, so 120kph was unbearably loud as there was zero cabin or engine bay insulation on the one I drove.
Ja, the diesel's normally like cruising, but getting that chassis moving from a stop (like in traffic) will eat into those figures in no time.2.2 yes, that's not too bad, but when I don't try the trip computer shows 8.5 so it's probably over 9. But for the size of the car it's okay, I was expecting worse when I bought it. This is quiet though, don't have that issue. It can get very frugal on the open road at low speed, but once you get into traffic or higher speeds it starts eating fuel.
Geez, that's hectic. My current car is by far the least fuel efficient vehicle I've ever owned, my previous car was a diesel passat, that thing you filled up and forgot about fuel. I once did 1300 km on a tank, fully loaded and not nursing the tank at all, one tank to plett and back, and that included driving around there for 4 days. And that was loaded for camping, even had to take the kids seats out and had them sitting on the blankets, that thing was loaded.Ja, the diesel's normally like cruising, but getting that chassis moving from a stop (like in traffic) will eat into those figures in no time.
If it helps, if I take the A4 down the road to the store and back, my average lies at around 16-17l/100km. But I normally average around 11l/100km around town with combined driving.
If there is stop-go traffic, I have better luck getting out and pushing it.
