I've got a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro V2010 here. I need to upgrade the memory.

Do I need to remove the whole bottom of the thing to get at the memory?

I think so if its the same as my FS (diff model), there is not a separate cover just for the memory slots but it should be no problem, I had to remove 6 screws to be able to lift the lid and then had access to the memory slots - no big deal though.

Man, I removed all visible 14 crews and still cant get the thing apart to put in the RAM. The front part splits a bit, but I dont want to try to hard in case something breaks.

Fijutsu Siemens is a bunch of crap!

My friend upgraded his ram and the slot that had the origional RAM in stopped working seaching the web many ppl have had this problem so yes Fujitsu Siemens suck

Normally its under a cover on the bottom of the laptop with a screw marked M holding it and then you can pop it open (has one or two clips as well) or it will be under the keyboard

Where's the best place to get laptop ram from anyway, any good online places? Need to upgrade mine too.

From what i can see you have remove the whole bottom part (+-14 screws) and the keyboard is also non removable.

I cant get the bottom and top parts seperated and wont/cant force it in case something breaks

I sell it. Its not my laptop, its a 256MB for a client. Wonder how I will find out how to get it in, why cant they just have a little memory panel like everyone else?!

R810 (excl R30 delivery to Jhb) for kingston DDR400, R860 for kingston DDR2 533.

Have you taken the battery out ? and to get the k/b off you lift the panel above the keyboard off very carefully with the screen fully open then there are one or 2 screws locating the keyboard and it will slide out towards the screen. Watch out for the ribbon cable connecting to the m/b dnt want to damage that

I just did a bit of looking around the P series and lifebooks memory are located under the k/b so lets hope they they keep some sort of standard. On some of the models the strip between the k/b and touchpad lift off and on others the strip between the screen and k/b come off giving you access to the k/b fastners be it clips or screws. Lift the strips off from the middle the clips are at the sides so bending it up makes it easier to come off. on the siemens they normally have a gap in the F keys so you can get a screwdriver in and under the strip.
