Hi all,

ok I see that most gigabit switches do support half/full duplex modes. Does the mode depend on the NIC connected to the switch? If so, how do I figure out which NIC is half and which is full duplex? What is the present standard for the onboard gigabit NICs?

thanks

All nics should connect at full duplex. Half duplex is usually a fall back mode for when autonegotiation fails. It is also used in hub to hub connections (NOT switch to switch).

If a NIC is connecting at half duplex, you should figure out what the problem is and fix it.
