Hi there guys,

I have a 2004 Opel Astra OPC that needs a full respray, the car has a some scratches on and also has 2x 1" dents on the bonnet and a 3" dent on the drivers door.

Does anyone here know a good place to go without braking the bank ?

I am looking to keeo the same colour, so its just a "blow over" with some dent removal.

Thanks

Full respray without breaking the bank is like saying you'd like to take a swim without getting wet.

You see the problem?

Why a full respray?

As far as I know you will be looking at about R50k - just not worth it unless the car is a collectors item. You could probably do a major touch up for between R10k and R20k, which would include having some panels resprayed.

I have had the car for 6yrs now and i was deciding on wether to keep her or replace her. I have decided to keep her as i really love the car despite the age.

However she is sapphire black and has taken a beating on the bumper and bonnet. The doors also have a few scratches from "trolleys" at malls etc and 1 dent from a car door that hit it. The back bumper and rear panels are fine, but seeing as i am looking to repray the whole front section of the car, why not the back too as i dont want colour variations.

I have been quoted around R15K to R20K by a very reputable panel shop, i just wanted to see if that was in the right ballpark...

Why don't you update your profile to show your location or at least post your location when asking questions that are dependant on your location?

Rather have those isolated issues fixed followed by a full 'polish' (abrasive buff) & glaze.

Wrap the car in Vinyl. I'm thinking of doing that in the near future on my Clubcab. I want it Mat Black and Mat Black can't be sprayed on as it becomes shiny under clear coat.

+1 :D
Cheaper than a respray, and you can get more interesting options.
Now just to find a place that does it at a reasonable price...

I'm seeing more and more vinyl wrapped cars these days. Quite odd to see a matte finish.

Also protects the paint. That being said, if you buy the Vinyl yourself and wrap it yourself it will prob work to about R 1 000 - R 2 000

possible to diy
but not as easy as you think, esp the more intricate parts
