Junior C++ Application developer
Centurion
R 18 000.00 – R 20 000.00 CTC per month
A gaming (Casino) company based in Centurion is looking for a C++ Application developer
with at least 2 years practical working experience. The primary focus of the role is the responsibility of developing and maintaining the new and existing software functionality.
Also responsible for second line support to the Software support personnel.
In addition, to perform the role as a trainer if it should be required.
Qualifications are an advantage, however not a prerequisite.
Summary description of role
Critical competencies to be considered: – 2+ years exp with Borland C++ – 2+ years SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 – TCP/IP and related protocols.
Advantages: – Linux Knowledge; – Knowledge of the gaming industry; – Hardware interface protocols (RS232); – Worked with Smart Cards, Proximity cards (Mifare) and card readers; – Component writing.
Key roles, responsibilities and performance areas – Be responsible for components of the client application development, as allocated by department head and assist with software support and maintenance; – Travel to the companies’ installed Casino sites, if and when applicable, for investigative or project implementation purposes; – Assist to maintain and build relationships and business with existing clients; – Assist the Sales and Marketing area to produce high quality reports and proposals, if required and when applicable; – Conduct product presentations, if and where required; – Development of solutions according to specifications provided in accordance with the methodologies specified by the company; – Have a thorough knowledge of Borland C++; – Have a thorough knowledge of RDBMS, specifically Microsoft SQL Server; – Have fair knowledge of the way that stored procedures and triggers interact with processes; – Implementation of device interfaces using the specified device protocols; – Ensure that changes are documented in accordance with the companies’ process and procedures; – Client support where the responsibility lies with the developer; – Ensure conformance to the rules and regulations of the gaming industry; – Keep up to date with the changing technologies in the development arena.
