You are
- Graduate or experienced professional
- Willing to tackle the hard problems first
- Self motivated and enjoy working to a high standard
You will
- Design, prototype and then build features, in collaboration with the team
- Contribute to the success large-scale systems
- Add to existing system features and be willing to innovate to get the job done
- Improve existing journeys on our client systems / websites, with a user focus
- Have many opportunities to be inventive, and have your ideas expanded into full features
- Research and solve the unique problems that come with systems that operate on a large scale, such as performance, load testing, and service architecture
- Log time on tasks completed and be accountable for your time
Required Skills
We are looking for talented developers to join our team; ability and commitment is more important than current skill set.
- Experience with HTML5 and CSS3
- Front-end development with JavaScript, jQuery and jQueryUI
- Server side web development languages, such as PHP, Ruby, Python (we work in PHP with CodeIgniter)
- Object-oriented programming with PHP5
- Web frameworks such as CodeIgniter, Symfony or Rails
- MySQL
- Version Control (Subversion / Git)
- Knowledge of all parts of the LAMP stack
- Understanding of how web technology works, end to end
Beneficial Skills
The following skills are beneficial but not essential for consideration.
- Working with Scrum methodology
- CodeIgniter PHP framework
- Test driven development
- Strong understanding of design patterns, knowing how and when to use them
- Redmine or similar issue tracking software
- Linux sysadmin experience
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients
