Future: 2x GPU's or Quadcore??

22", 1650x1080. haha hope you've got a cure for my crossfire saddness.

Keeper yea 8 8 or 16 16 makes no difference, its just another way to make mobo more expensive :p

well i thought most new cards need PCIEx 16 by now, was only trying to "yelp" - but something is not right, he should be able to beat his buddy..

26 frame increase in this benchy.... what gives?

he's supposed to be on par with a 9800 GTX XXX SLI, and 10 fps under 2 GTX280's in SLI FFS....

Yea keeper bare in mind though you get various crossfire problems with drivers, maybe the 2 different brands are causing problems, crossfire is not an exact science and does not run well on every kind of system. Ati are notoriously bad with drivers so could very possibly be the drivers.

Yes I also think that may be the prob, if he has the newest drivers.

I wouldn't risk CFing two different brands though...

Soz Buddy, but I think I might be in the same boat as you... And the reason being the card can't really shine at this resolution. We need bigger screens. :p

I doubt he is getting 20FPS in call of duty because the Res is to low.

I got 20FPS on my 3850 in cod4 with 1680 x 1050.

Keeper how old is half life though. Im not saying theres any wrong just theres no support for alot of things.

Feel bad for the thread hi-jack, sorry!

Haha screens my next upgrade. T240 but funds are min:(

I would definitely go for the Quad. If you're on a budget then the Q6600 if you can (it is end of life at some suppliers) or the Q8200.

Then, keep up to date with the graphics card market and sell the 4850 before the next range is released so you can get the best price possible. Then buy a single card of the said new series.

I still think SLI/Crossfire is overrated.

So what do you use in the meantime?

Soz, miss read there, thought he was talking about PoP.

Have you tried to remove one of the cards and check if you get better frames then? That is seriously low.

what PSU do you have there mate? is it on the ATI Compatible PSU's List?

20fps in COD5 at that res??? Im getting over 60fps with my Single 4850

Eish :(

Haha maybe i was a bit loose on the details, its gets to the twenties(so 25-29) and thats not average thats the lowest(big crazy part when your the russian and just finish running threw the underground train part and you come out to this big street war with tanks and all the rest). Other than that its pretty stable. But POP is a nightmare seen it at very scary 16 haha and thats not just a quick drop it stays there threw the hole part. In the first scene where prince is looking for his donkey in the sand storm i get as low as 26. Changing Anti-Aliasing from 8 to 0 doesnt have an effect.

Edit: PSU is raidmax 700watt sli ready;)

You have some serious problems somewhere in your PC dude. My PC is somewhat slower than yours and get more than DOUBLE your FPS?

COD5 1680x1050 everything set to max with AA get around 50FPS.
E5200, HD4850, 4gb
