I need to give a gadget prize to a few IT geeks ... anout R1,000.00 :/

Anyone think of anything to use?

Do you get a media streamer for R1,000.00?
Anything else?
 
A portable hard drive is always a good idea, or perhaps a gift voucher?
 
Portable hard drive is probably the most useful.

Other gadgets I like:
An LED Lenser P17 torch. Yes, its a torch, but its cool enough to be a gadget. High powered and better quality than a maglite torch.
A Takealot.com voucher for R1000? Not a gadget but pretty handy.
Could you get a kindle for that price? Isnt the new cheapest one $80 or something?
 
If you go with the external hard drive option then for the love of all that is holly don't get a Samsung, that will turn those geeks into a flesh eating mob, something like this would be nice:

New entry level kindle? Might be a bit over R1k with shipping & customs.
 
Dont buy a Seagate drive, quality has plummeted. Hence the new 2 year warranty.
 
What about the cheapest Mede8r, isnt it like R800,and does full hd?
 
HP Microserver (slightly more expensive that R1000 though) but an amazing gadget for geeks!
