Galaxy Nexus versus iPhone 4S

From the article

This doesn't make sense to me. Most BlackBerry loyalists in my experience (and I know quite a few) are loyal because of BBM, BIS and the physical keyboard. The GNexus has none of that, it's actually about as far from the BB philosophy as you can get.

Care to explain the logic of these people?

Probably some user commented "If I didn't have a Blackberry, I'd have a Nexus"

When I look at the FPS on GLbenchmark between these device I just shake my head:p

It's actually a stock 1Ghz - but UNDER-Clocked @ 800Mhz

Great comparative review, Jan.

I'm surprised to hear that the 4s's processor is clocked at 800Mhz - I always assumed it was 1Ghz.

I'll take the Galaxy Nexus in the end, as the iPhone's screen is just a little small. My 3.7" screen (Defy) sometimes seems too small, so I can't imagine a 3.5" screen keeping me happy. But in the end, both are awesome phones and like you said, it's all about personal taste.

PS - good luck with that 1206 unread emails of yours :p

Ive been waiting for an excuse to try something other then BB. Nexus is it.

Why not the S2? It's a better phone really. Or the Note?

What is it about the Nexus that has swayed your loyalty?

I've had the original SGS and the SGS2. The SGS isn't getting ICS, which isn't really a problem because I can upgrade almost again. But the Nexus S is getting ICS and it is not a better phone than the SGS. Actually it is the same phone with some limitations the same as the SGS2 and the Nexus now. I will go for a nexus over a S2 if I got the chance now, my contract is probably more inline with the S3.

Actually I resisted remarkably well, wanted to post.

Thát would have pushed it ... LOL!

Here in CT there are those who would have agreed with you ... Cape Crusaders ... but I hear they are known as "kokerotte" in the community.

Troll much?

So somebody posts an opinion and they are a troll?

Are you a Samsung fanboy? My Samsung experiences are 10x worse than I have had with any other electronics company. That's a fact, whether it sits well with you or not.

AFAIK. That's when my contract is up so that's why I'm hoping it's around that time :D

That's about when they announce the new devices if history is something to go by. You still have to wait for it to get to SA...

So I understand. Why would Apple opt for this? To keep the phone cooler?

Probably battery life - which is better than any Android smartphone I think. iOS prioritize the screen over multi-tasking and because it pauses all the things you are not currently using instead of running it in the background, 800 MHz is more than enough. Because Android tries to do everything in the background, it needs the extra juice to compare to the slickness of iOS and in my opinion it doesn't match it as yet - even though it uses its superior hardware (on the premium devices) to try and counter that.

Well Apple better move their backsides.

Android is not standing still
